I have a 1995 BMW 325i convertible and I installed a Kenwood KDC-MP245 Head Unit. After soldering the harness and connecting the unit, I ran into the NO SOUND problem. Everything else works, but no sound. Checked the internet, found this Pelican Technical Article and El Diablo's entry from March 2, 2010. This solution WORKED for my car and HUE30 Buyers Guide – 325i/is. The 325i/is E30 variant is the second most common model in the US and unquestionably the most sought after. The 325i/is’ main selling point is the M20B25 engine. The M20B25 engine is the most powerful engine offered in the E30 platform, producing 167 horsepower and 164 lb-ft of torque.

The 325 is a good freeway cruiser, quiet and smooth in stock trim. The M3 has a much stiffer suspension, BTW the interior and trim is more like an iS than an i. The M3 brakes are much more powerful, pads cost more but not that much more $.

Though most E30 BMW enthusiast upgrade to a 17" wheel. Which is typically 8" wide. Also it's possible to do a 5 lug conversion to have more of a selection or wheels/rims to choose from. I upgraded a E32 740iL from a stock 15" to a 18" set of rims and it helped the handling in corners. Once off, remove the dust shield form the old hub, and transfer it onto the new hub. The wheel bearings on the E30 are an integral part of the hub, so the whole hub assembly must be replaced. The new hubs will come with the bearings already pre-installed. Take the new bearing/hub ad place it on the axle shaft.
